Hotel Emma is unconventional and charming. It's industrial influence mixed with southern style decor makes for a wonderful retreat for him and her. I have had a crush on this Hotel for a couple years, though we could not fit it into our budget nor was it on the river walk as we had planned, I still have it at the top of my list of hotels to stay at in Texas. When I told my husband I wanted to have brunch there for my birthday he thought it odd that I wanted to visit a Hotel and its restaurant as part of my birthday get away. Unfortunately we were 0-2 with the hotel because we also missed brunch hours at Supper. Their brunch ended just before we arrived, and since I was craving a yummy sweet brunch we went to the Boiler House. I still crave the mouth watering menu Supper has to offer and it too is on the top list of restaurants to try on my next visit to San Antonio. So besides not staying overnight and not eating at the hotel's renowned restaurant we asked if we could do a walk through of the Hotel. I had a little surprise I wanted David to see on our tour. David has a love for books and all things library. Hotel Emma has a very unique library centered in the hotel, which we had to stop off and visit. The dim lit industrial library with its large leather chairs would make any man fall for its charm. It was like the ultimate man- cave for a cultured gent with a love for novelty. I loved the gardens and pavilion available for guests to sit outside. It was overcast and the weather was cool. I loved listening to the water fountains and enjoying the atmosphere the Hotel has to offer. If you are looking for or have the budget for a unique luxury hotel this Hotel has a lot to offer and the rooms, even the bathrooms, are impeccable! I promise you will not regret at stay at Hotel Emma.
